What I bring on my Abraham Law of Attraction cruises

I just got back from my fourth Law of Attraction Abraham-Hicks Cruise. It was, of course, GLORIOUS. The first time I ever went on a cruise I watched a dozen videos trying to figure out what to bring. An Abraham cruise also has some unique pieces that regular cruising doesn't. So as I unpack, let's play what's in my bag?

  • A Sunday Afternoons sun hat.
I'm talking wide brim, flap to cover the neck, strap to keep it on me. To me the Sunday Afternoons hat is essential. You want to be free to go out in the sun whenever you want and you want to keep your hat with you no matter how windy the boat gets. (The cruise ship top deck woooOOOOoooo and the boat you may take on an excursion.) Strap it on, cover up, and enjoy the view. It's also smushable so I can smush it in my backpack no worries. Smush smush smush.
  • A backpack or a bag or something to take your stuff with you on excursions.
My criteria: comfortable to use, nothing to worry about, and big enough for a water bottle. Carrying the water bottle in your hand is not as fun as two hands for hugging, taking photos, or waving at other happy people if you ask me.
  • A lanyard.
You can buy them on the ship in the gift store if you like. You use your sea pass / room key card on the ship all the time to get drinks, to get on and off the boat, to open your room. When you wear it around your neck it's there and it's easy.
  • A neck pillow for the airplane.
I use the infinity travel pillow. The flight attendant had never seen it before. It's AWESOME. I did a lot of research before I found this baby. Plus it's soft and smushable. I like things that smush in my bag. Smush. Smush. Smush.
  • A small purse or sling bag for your phone/camera and small essentials.
Can we say yoga pants? Seriously, get comfy on the ship and on land days. But where are those pockets? That's what I'm talking about bring a small cross body bag so you can take as many photos as you want easily while still having a bigger bag for the other stuff.
  • Eye darkening power.
I use an infinity scarf (smushable!) but if you share a cabin and you want to sleep and they are up and about it's nice to make it dark for yourself. So eye pillow or t-shirt or whatever, dark dark dark.
  • Ear plugs.
Just like eye darkening power it's nice to tune out the noise when you want to. The ship docking. The neighbor going in and out of their cabin. The airplane people. Quiet can be soooo nice.
  • Poopourri or Smell-Hider.
It's a small cabin and a small bathroom. There is a buffet going almost 24/7. 'Nuff said. haha
  • Motion sickness stuff.
I get motion sick in cars. On boats. When I watch my kid going down the slide. No exaggeration. So what do I use? Acupressure bands. THEY WORK. I only take them off to sleep and shower. I wear them before I get out of bed and wander around. I never ever ever ever ever ever use the stairs on the boat because going in a circle makes me feel woozy. Elevators for the win! The wrist bands work. I also use MotionEase the first few days behind my ears but by the end of the week if I forget it doesn't bother me. I have tried Bonine and other medications but they make me feel off and I found I don't need them. Also, talk to the cruise reservation person so you can get a cabin in the least bouncy part of the ship. Location matters.
  • Water shoes.
If you are going to the Caribbean or any place with a beach don't assume sand. Sometimes it's rocky. Ask the Shore Excursions desk folks before you go off the ship. They know.
  • Laundry Detergent
Yes, the ship has dry cleaning and laundering but it takes time to get your stuff back. If you need a quick cleaning you can wash your thingies in the sink.
  • Socks and Underwear and T-Shirts and Tank Tops.
Don't run out. NEVER RUN OUT. You can reuse all the other clothes as needed if you under-packed for the particular weather you got but never underestimate the power of clean socks and undies.
  • Comfortable Shoes.
Do not test your new shoes on your vacation. Test them now.
  • Huge Clamp Clips.
Like clips for your bag of potato chips, only big enough to clip your beach towel to your chair on the deck so it doesn't blow away. Or your wet clothes to dry on the balcony chair so they don't blow away. Or your cabin curtains to stay closed if you have a window and they have a crack of light in them.
  • Something to read that's not on your phone.
Pool time. Hanging out time. No wifi unless you pay extra for it and even then it's sketchy sometimes. You may find yourself with time to read. Bring a Kindle. Heck, bring a real book with real paper. Put your feet up. Relaaaaaaax without that phone.
  • Hair holder downer.
People laughed when I took my long silk-like scarf and wrapped it around my head like a babushka but I was the one who didn't have to eat my hair in the wind on the deck. So scarf, hair ties, a hat, even a winter hat that covers your head like a helmet. Ships are breezy. Really breezy.
  • An emergency poncho.
It's like a garbage bag with a hood and arm holes. It's also super cheap, small to pack and carry, and if you end up on a rainy excursion you can put it over you and your backpack and it won't blow away like an umbrella. Not fancy, but super practical. You may look a visitor to Niagara Falls but you will appreciate feeling dry. Dry is comfy. Your backpack things so too.
  • A small notepad and pen.
Without a phone, and by actually being in an environment where you meet other people who are super friendly (Abers!) bring a small notepad and pen. You can then exchange information. Small paper is also great for writing out the day. I make a teeny note that has the time the ship docks, when we are supposed to be back on board, and anything I meant to do that day like see a show. Then I can just tuck that paper into my lanyard behind my sea pass. You may think you will remember such a small itinerary but trust me, after a few days on a ship you won't even know what day it is let alone what island you are on or what country you are in and you will appreciate having hard evidence that you are allowed to be off the ship until 7:00pm and it won't leave without you. (Because it will.)
  • A folder for all the paper.
Yes, your cruise may have an app but it's often lagging and wrong at this point in technology time. So every night you get a paper itinerary or instructions for the next day put on your bed. You get coupons. You get info. I found a folder is super helpful. I can put the used info in there and keep the current stuff on top so I'm not digging through the pile wondering which day it is.
  • More outlets.
The ships have both United States and European plugs but not enough of them. So bring plug adapters. NOT a surge protector with a chord. Those will be confiscated.
  • A secure passport/ID carrier
I have a Peak Gear RFID blocking under-the-shirt thing for places like Rome. It can be nice to have the really important stuff stuck to your body if you are getting in and out of taxis or buses or tours or what-have-you all day

For Seminars
It's a sea day! You have an Abraham seminar! Yay!!!!
  • Sweaters.
Esther keeps that room on the cool side. I'm not kidding. Be prepared.
  • Something to mark your seat.
I bring a big scarf. You get to save one seat for a friend but you also want to mark your seat for when you get up to get a snack.
  • Cough drops.
This may just be me but after a night of yelling like I'm back in the 80's during the silent disco party I might have dry throat the next day but I don't want to drink too much water because I don't want to go to the bathroom and miss anything Abraham says but I also don't want to cough. So there you have it.
  • Paper and pens. Pens. Pens.
Drop one, one runs out, someone needs one, I HAZ PENS. And paper. I love to take notes.
  • Cookie carrier.
If you like to munch and stay awake for the whole seminar and you see all the cookies laid out in the back of the room and you even see the gluten-free ones and you want to bring a bunch back to your seat how will you carry them? Important. Baggies may seem silly but I can't even count how many people saw my baggie of cookies and said "I should have brought one of those!" Cookie bags for the win.

Things you DON'T NEED or CANNOT BRING
  • You don't need to bring a beach towel. It's a cruise ship with a pool. Large towels are abundant.
  • A surge protector with a cord. They will confiscate this. Bring plug adapters instead.
  • An iron. They will confiscated this.
  • Candles or fire of any kind. No no. Also confiscated.

But the most important thing to bring with you?
Your Inner Being!

Abraham Cruises are fantastic. Filled with awesome people who also love to talk about conscious creation and revel in the amazing that is unfolding. My husband has asked me why I wear my Abraham badge around the ship when it's not time for a seminar and I just grin, I want people to know I'm open for chatting. And it works. The elevators, the halls, the lounges, the cafe, the deck... it's so easy to rendezvous with other amazing uplifters on an Abraham Cruise.

Find the Facebook group for the cruise you are going on. Join it. You can even join if you aren't going on the cruise but you want to be a part of the photos and joy of it all. Set your intent to follow your impulses and enjoy an amazing week of clarity, joy, and connection.

It's awesome.
